I cant decide between a tank and a bb36

I hate my mind, its so indecisive! I dont even know how to make that decision.. I have the budget to buy either a BB36 or a Stainless Steel Tank Must.

On some days, I think BB36 because its much more versatile and I can wear it everyday. On other days, I think that I have watches that are similar to it style wise, so a Cartier is what I should go for.

Thats the beauty of watch collecting I guess but its getting out of hands, why cant I just make a decision! It was much easier when buying seikos and citizens 🙂

Any of you guys has been through this dilemma before?

What else do you own in your collection? If anything like a smartish diver or GADA watch then that rules out the BB36 & get the Tank

I own

  • citizen tsuyosa yellow

  • seiko srpk31 diver (not the best diver though, its on the cheaper side)

  • seiko srpj81 daily watch

  • seiko tank quartz

  • nuun watch (local brand)

  • and shit load of fashion watches that were gifts from beloved people

I Love both but if your life style is more relaxed and sporty the BB is for you, or try a diver style like the BB58

Ah, not as clear cut as anticipated. I though I'd be indifferent to the Tudor and like the Cartier. I expected the Tudor to be a dive watch, and the Carter to be in gold. I think the Cartier would be better with a leather strap. Er, hmm, can't you post the question on a watch forum for help?

😂🤣

So this will be your first entry level “luxury watch”? If it is that makes it a bit tougher to choose. I personally would get the Tudor since you already have a seiko tank.

I get it. My question is on those days you want to reach for your best premium watch do you want it to be a dressy tank or slightly more casual Tudor ? Either one works in a dressier scenario.

shit you make complete sense, a tudor will wear good in all scenarios and yes it would be easier to wear casually. I also dont have that much dressy occasions going on

Now i am disappointed because i thought you'll guys convince me to go with the irrational decision which is a tank 😂 I'll probably go with the tudor i believe

I mean both watches are good choices maybe the answer is buy one now and the other later when you can.

Tank first I think. Looking at your collection

Black Bay seems the more sensible choice. Of course you could go and try them on side by side to compare.

I think with the Cartier you're buying name recognition, and Tudor you're buying (arguably) for the watch tech. This especially applies if you're looking to match budgets...a Tank similar in price to the BB36 is going to be quartz and probably considered lower tier on their scale.

·

Tudor - it's so versatile that ensure you will wear it more than the more limiting IMO Cartier. I would contend you want to wear your new piece as much as possible to enjoy and cherish - so Tudor in my book clearly wins on that metric.

Tank. Better to be overdressed than underdressed.

·

Get the BB now and add the Cartier later. Can’t go wrong with either

·

My last watch purchase was split between a speedy and a Cartier de santos mid. Chose the Santos and so glad I did. It so very different from my divers and other round dials. I ts dressy yet strangely can be worn casual. I have a tank too and I truly love Cartier there amazing with great heritage's a superb warranty especially when registering your new purchase. Try one on I'm sire you'll then go ahead and buy one

Hey guys am sold on the cartier, stay tuned i’ll update this post once i get it.. thank you all for tolerating my dilemma hehe
