Ladies watch recommendations

Good day,

so a lot of us are aware of at least 10 to 15 microbrands, but I can’t think of any catering to women size so 32mm and below. So this is probably due to my personal ignorance so please educate me, which microbrands produce small sizes.

I don’t know if a women’s specific line would have enough demand for a microbrand to be able to justify the investment. This hobby skews very male.

That said, Kuoe primarily works with 34mm case sizes and I just saw that Kurono recently announced a 34mm model. Neither are marketed as a women’s watch though.

I also think 36mm watches could also be considered unisex. My wife has slender wrists and my 36mm Farer looks perfectly natural on her.

There is Abingdon - https://abingdonco.com/. Also a number of recent /upcoming dress watches - Lorier Zephyr, Vario Versa, the new Second hour Memoir and another coming from Galvin - the Suvi. Not a microbrand watch but I gave my wife a Seiko SRE003K, which is old school 28mm but is basically a mini dressKX...

Not too sure if Mondaine is a micro brand but the ladies evo2 comes in at 30mm

Not really a microbrand as such, but Christopher Ward are doing a lot in this area. They’ve marketed the Twelve as ‘not a men’s watch, not a women’s watch, it’s just a watch.’

It’s 36mm though. They do have one with a rose gold bezel that seems to be aimed primarily at women though.

I agree with WAphoto. It’s a niche market that would require a lot of investment for brands with an uncertain reward. Hence the sort of 36mm cutoff with a lot of brands today.

For a smaller case size and a more obvious women’s watch, I usually see professionals in London rocking a Rolex Datejust in <34mm or a Cartier of pretty much any description on the tube.

They’re two heavy weight manufacturers with a long history of women centred watch making with their ranges. As a microbrand targeting a female demographic - that’s what you’re up against. Icons matter in womens watches as much as they do in mens. Perhaps more so with the lack of variety! Success means you’re either undercutting the big players on price but not styling, or you’re trying something completely new and risky.

Don't know about the sizing, as @mazarg said, Abingdon Co. Founded by a woman pilot, designed from the ground up for ladies as opposed to just, "Add all the flowers and make the case pink".

There's also Elliot Brown's Bloxworth Hali. Specifically designed as a ladies rugged, yet elegant dive watch. (My wife is looking at this next for herself.)

Finally Resco has the Sea Pearl. Resco is founded by, and issued to SEALs.

I believe Bernhardt Watch Co might have some ladies models as well.

This is a problem. Micro brands sell to men mainly do the demand just isn’t there.

I wouldn't go microbrand, go vintage Omega - they're cheap and your lady will appreciate a prestigious name more than an unknown.

For example I paid £450 for a fully serviced gold Omega Ladymatic from eBay.

Omega is banned from the household and I already bought her a longines, a credor, a rolex and a cartier. I’m looking for something different. That’s why microbrand. I appreciate all the input, but that’s why I tried to specify my post as much as I can 😅, to find something I’m not familiar with. Hope to get a few more options here.

Thanks all.
