Weiss American Issue 42 Ti

Several months ago, I contacted Whitney at Weiss Watch Company and asked if there was any way I could order one of their house-made 1003 movements. I was lucky there was one available.

I got to choose between black, white, latte, and navy dial options as well as the strap, then it was finished to order.

It arrived in the mail yesterday.

The contrast between polished and brushed titanium is killer in person, but I just wanted to share some first day photos before I start putting wear on it.

Thanks for lookin! 🤙

As a collector of indies I have looked at this company a few times and really liked what they are doing. But nothing stood out to me. The other watch maker is RGM with some unique pieces with painted enamel dials.

RGM has some amazing looking work for sure.

Yeah, the case is grade 5 titanium. I'm just glad he's making watches in the US. It's wild to me how much time and effort he's invested in making all this come together. They just passed the 10 year mark this year too.

I'll be looking to put NATOs on in no time lol. They make an OD canvas 2 peice I really want to get that has a synthetic sweat guard. It wasn't in stock though.

I really like what they're doing. Such clean looking watches. I fancy the 38mm in white myself. I think the 42mm may sit a bit big on my wrist as those lugs don't seem to slope much. Congrats! A perfect complement to your Hamilton 👌

The 38s look awesome too. I think the manual wind 38 is under 10mm thick. Very sleek for a field watch. 👏

I had to check. Comes in at 9.2mm per the website, which is insane for such a solid tool watch. Definitely moving up my wish list. 📈

Weiss is definitely on my short list of watches to buy some day. I have a friend with one of the California versions and it looks great.

The LA dials are awesome. I think some of the really early ones Cameron painted himself.

Cameron and Whitney are the best! Both my wife and I have piece(s?) unique from them and they are spectacular! Mine in Bugatti French racing blue and hers in “Hanna Banana” yellow with a matching date wheel!

Those are a killer set together. Thanks for sharing!

I only found "Watch and Listen" maybe 6 months ago, so all that time you guys put into it is still paying off and getting fresh views. I learned a ton from you guys.

I was doing a lot of research into where I wanted to put my money for a "nice watch" and after seeing all the heart and soul Cameron and Fam puts into the product, it was a no brainer. I think it was when I saw he donated one of his old hand made 42s to charity, I was like yep, that's the kind of person I want behind the company I'm supporting. 🤙🍒

Wow, I've not seen this watch. What a stunning piece! Love the hands and dial.

I don't know if you have any other Grade 5 titanium watches, but they are amazingly scratch resistant. I wore one in grade 5 Ti virtually every day for a year+ and can't find any hairline scratches at all even with a loupe. Wear it well!

I just received my watch yesterday from them. I’m loving my Tennessee Tangerine. I’m curious about the cost of those 1003 watches. I just sent them an email

I’m loving it!! How does the field watch wear? I have a 7.5 inch wrist and it feels like the 42mm that it is. I was scared that the field watch would wear big since it has no bezel and would makes for a pretty big dial.

It's definitely a big dial in white. That's what I was going for though. The black or blue is probably a little more subdued. My wrist hovers just over 7.5 depending on food/ physical activity.

I think if they made a 40mm auto field watch I would jump on it. Take my money!!!

Those are some awesome photos! I’ve been a big fan of #weiss for quite some time now. Come on… that finishing on the movement is so good! Cheers 🍻
