Year? Model info?

Got this watch from my uncle a while ago. It’s a very nice fit on my small wrist, I would guess 35mm. Tried searching on the specific model but couldn’t find any information, anyone knows how to find year and a bit information about the watch?

Also it is solar powered. How does it work with solar watches, they probably also have to have the battery changed. Is there a specific type of battery for solar powered watches? I’m guessing so.

Released 1988. It probably takes a button cell capacitor, but I'm not sure which one. A full charge should normally last 3-4 days.

Thanks a lot! Quite a vintage then. Do you know if it’s rare or if they made a lot of copies of this particular model? No matter how much I look around I can’t seem to find enough information about it.

I don't think they made too many. Unfortunately for some of the solar models the capacitor/rechargeable battery are no longer available because there was not much demand for them due to low supply of watches or other applications.

Solar watches don't like prolonged storage in some abyss and it is advised to fully charge them every 6 months or so to extend the life of poor old capacitor. Information which one to use is not available at first look but likely be CTL1616 or alike - when time comes, open back case and let us know 😉
