A vintage Omega

Hello guys, I hope that your day is filled with joy and watches.

I am quite a newbie to watches particularly vintage watches. However, as you all probably all know getting a vintage watch when you don't know much about watches is generally not recommended in watch community.

I tried my best to stick to this advice, the heart wants what it wants 🙃. Last Saturday i was roaming around the streets of the old city and i come across a small watch boutique that completely stole my heart and when I got inside the store, there was an old man behind the counter who was fixing up some old watches. He was very welcoming and kind and he showed me some of the vintage watches he was selling and one of them got my attention. It was Omega Constellation from the 1970s. It was fully functional and the condition seems to be quite good.

He wanted 600$ for the watch, but to be frankly honest i have no idea if that is a good price or not. I would be really grateful if anyone can help me and tell me if this price is good or not.

Thanks for your time in advance and have a great day!

Hi @ryn_99 😀,

That is an Omega circa 1970's from the 'integral series'. In that time period Omega made a lot of Watches with integrated bracelets, hence the name.

They all carry movements from the 1000 caliber family. I would say the one in your picture has an Omega 1001 movement. They are considered delicate, but if it was just serviced it should run for years to come👌.

I have a small worry,

I searched for a matching dial to your example and this was the closest I could find. The picture is really clear and that helps.

The OMEGA looks tighter together on this example. I suspect that there is a possibility of yours being a re-touched dial, thow not fully. I would still negotiate a better price ⌚😉👍.
