Front View of Q Timex GMT 38mm Stainless Steel Bracelet Watch Stainless-Steel/Black 1.0

Hello Guys, I just came across these watches from Timex Instagram account. They are the new Q timex GMT 38mm. The blackish one has a rubber strap and comes at a price of $199, whereas the pepsi one is made up of steel bracelet and comes up at a price of $219. The black one looks supper dope in the pictures they released and I really love the addition of rubber strap.

what do you guys think? Is there are better alternative at this price point?

There seems to be at at least two additional variants not currently showing on Timex's website.

I'm hoping the batman bezel will be available on the rubber strap.

·

I love it but I'd  love it even more if it came with a mechanical movement for 200 odd quid. Will have to wait. If it comes down to about 150 I'll Deffo pick one up

·

For me, I'm actually glad it's not mechanical. As it adds to the pick up and go nature of it, plus don't have to reset it as often.

·

A mate just bought one, it’s nice. Rubber strap is comfortable. Vintage Timex vibe. It’s good.

In terms of price, just watch the website - it’ll vary between 15-50% off in the next few months so just buy whenever you give in.

·

They look like lovely pieces. The 38mm is spot on in size, too. At least for me, it is. Like @PopitonaNATO said, I'll have to wait and see if I can score these at a discount at a department store somewhere. I'm definitely interested.

·

the black one is fantastic - I feel like I want to wait because you know there will be a million color ways - and maybe a mechanical. it Would have been cool if they even made it a solar quartz - but its definitely moving in the right direction. what’s next q chronograph?

I like the look, hate the price tag

·

I prefer this bronze/black non-GMT version at the more reasonable price of $140.

I like them a lot. Already have a 3 hander so I won't be buying one but they're

 nice watches.

I agree, for the price, better off with a 12 hour bezel and keeping it simple.

·

I love them.

The weird thing is that ablogtowatch website has a photo of a "batman" version that is not showing on Timex website

I need to read the comments before I post mine 😊

A batman bezel would be great.

There is a good chance it will be on a rubber strap since it seems that they will make the pepsi available on a rubber strap as well.

Totally agree. These watches are meant to be daily beaters so they should be easy to just pick up and roll with them.

I am glad that Timex are bringing back some heritage pieces. Will try my best to wait for a discount but can't give any promises 😅

You are completely right 38mm is a perfect size.

I agree with you in terms of price because after all it is quartz timex watch and i personally think it should be less than 150$.

This is a definitely a good looking watch, but i do have a problem with the bracelet. I have tried it out and i have to say that it not as well made as the rest of the watch.

·

Timex just wants my money.  That Waterbury Diver they released the other day, I already planned on picking one of those up if I could get it at a decent discount (Timex and their sales and coupons make it very possible).  And then as if Timex didn't want to wait for my money they release these.  Lucky for my bank account the Pepsi sold out fast (not that the stealthy black isn't tempting as well).  But this was an impulse buy waiting to happen.

I mean brilliant. These Q reissues always implied the idea of a GMT, it makes total sense for them to go all the way, although I also didn't expect that they would do it.  And less expected is that they did at such a small premium over the standard 1979 Q.

I definitely want one.  The Pepsi is obvious 🔥.  But now that the initial impulse is gone, I'm hoping they release that Batman bezel, only because I already own a Pepsi bezeled true auto GMT. Plus I'm sure it'll be easier to get discounted in short time.  I'm surprised they teased the Batman and didn't release it as well although maybe because they released the M79 Black & Double Blue so recently.  I like the new bracelet style, although seems to be mixed reviews on it.

Well done Timex.

Never look at Timex's MSRP unless you're concerned in being the absolute first to have one.  They have sales and coupons constantly.  Or 3rd party vendors will sell it at a discount within a couple of months.  I don't think I've ever payed full retail for a Timex.

·

All three (gray/black, Batman, Pepsi) will be hits. Timex has tapped into 70s/80s nostalgia in the right way with their recent releases.

·

Looks great but I don't like the way lugless watches sit on my wrist.

·

On Instagram in a response to whether they will sell the straps, Timex said "Not at the moment but [their] team is working on it".

·

As a Timex Fanatic, I love it, but my OCD prevents me from really liking the GMT hand.  lol.  I own all the Q reissues and I use my bezel to time things and that's about it. I'm a simple man.  lol

·

Its a nice watch its on my hit list. I have the expedition scout want to see if it tick louder or the same.

This x 10

And Timex does a fantastic job of eventually meeting market demand

Does anyone know if the rubber strap on the Timex Q's fit the older models? Specifically this model:

I have this in my collection and it really is a beauty.  Purchased for $130 during a Christmas sale.
