Is it worth it or not

Any or some 'Komono' watches?

Ex-Komono owner here. I owned (and wore) the Winston Regal Black:

I wore this watch, almost every single day, for about 5-6 years before I started my Journey through quality watchmaking. The thing took a beating for years at a time and the quality shortfalls started being very apparent during the last 2-3 years.

The case is made of brushed brass painted over. The tooling is rather coarse. Somehow the material “bubbled up” over time and started looking really bad. The mineral crystal acquired several scratches during its life. The (non replaceable) leather strap held well for many years but ended up looking very battered. The gasket between snap-on caseback and case dried up and became brittle over time, which made the watch not even splash resistant at some point. The quartz movement, despite being extremely cheap, worked quite reliably throughout the years, requiring maybe only 1 battery change.

TL;DR: it really is the definition of a fashion watch. Don’t pay the initial 90€ asking price for it. However, if you can get it at a deep discount out of eBay it can sure be a good deal. It is a quartz piece that will tick for years even if worn every single day, but will not age well.

I have three, they're just fashion watches in truth but I only paid between £10 & £28 for each. This one I was lucky with as I really like the design and it had sold out, the last few went for well over retail which I wasn't willing to pay. I kept my eyes open on eBay but somehow TK Maxx got one, new.

But I wanted to check the materials and components ad I wasn't really convenues yet, so I just wanted to check in here. Now that I know that they don't age well; I am not so sure I want to buy one.
