Hey fellow crunchers!
I'm looking for a vintage looking diver, case size between 39 - 41mm, with a 4 Hz movement. i reduced the selection to three pretty similar watches. i do have a favorite but i can't finally decide.
So i would like to hear your opinions and maybe some new suggestions to make the decision even harder. The price shouldn't be higher than 700€ (including tax/vat).
Just from the looks I find that Baltic does the retro diver thing so well that the Aquascaphe would be my choice.

it looks like everybody thinks that way. 😀
I haven't had any experience with Baltic but most of what I have heard from them is rather good. I feel the design, copied from the Bathyscaphe is spot on (here a watch double the price with similar looks from Squale https://www.orologiswp.it/it/squale-heritage-fifty-nine For a long time I was considering this one but got the Lorier Neptune instead as it had a more true homage design, but as things have evolved I finally found a good example of Squale Corso Italiano which was y dream diver, with also 20mm lug width as the Baltic. But should I have not been able to get the Corso Italiano, I would have gotten the Baltic in white for sure.

I was thinking about the Lorier too, but already sorted it out for me.
I recently saw a video about echo/neutra and it seems realy good. Baltic is an obvious choice but I will go for the originality with echo/neutra.

The problem with the new Lorier Neptune IV is that the hour hand lume is too disappointing. I had the watch for two weeks and sold it in part to fund the Squale.

I really like the dial of the Echo/neutra but with the slim hands it‘s hard to tell the time.
Out of the three you posted the Baltic is the winner for me. If you can stretch the budget a bit the Christopher Ward Aquitaine is worth a look.
What about a Steinhart Ocean Vintage Military 39? It has an ETA 2824/Sellita SW200 4Hz movement and it’s 39mm.

Oh Interesting. I didn‘t know about it yet.

I heard that there are difficulties with the lume severel times now. That‘s very unfortunate. otherwise the specs and design is great. But i just don‘t like the gilt.
Squale has some really nice watches. i guess i have to restrain myself a little more and maybe skip the Baltic. Not an easy decision.
I don't think the Baltic is going to disappoint you. I really had my idea fixed on getting the white silver one instead of the cream and would have given it a good chance. Unfortunately the similar looking ones from Squale are all limited and maybe too expensive. The Corso Italiano, the one of my dreams and the one I had the fortune to be able to get at a reasonable price, is the only sub39 with 20mm lugs which I really like. This said, the Squale is of great quality and with an interesting story behind.
