IIcohow-wowyp round two! (6/8) Mido Multifort vs. Lorier Falcon

If I could only have one watch - which one would you chose? Another round of big vs. small Mido Multifort (42mm) I stumbled upon a 38mm Multifort in a store and was hypnotised by the Geneva stripes on the dial. I wanted it. But it seemed too expensive. I gave up on it. A few months later on a business trip I walked by a watch store and saw this one for less than 1/3 of the MSRP, brand new with full warranty. Only downside? It's the 42mm instead of the 38mm I wanted. Eh, more dial to look at! Lorier Falcon (36mm) From the first Lorier release on I wanted one. Like many of us I was totally into the retro vintage look but I found a thing I didn't like with almost every release. Until... Falcon II. This one. Perfection. I ordered it I'm still baffled how gorgeous this watch is whenever I'm wearing it. Which one would you pick?

I'm going with the Multifort.

Big is better especially with such a gorgeous dial

One that I like, one that I dislike. It is easy )))

This is another Goofus and Gallant pairing for me.

Goofus has a big flat dial and no color whatsoever. Gallant is neatly sized with a well laid-out dial, domed crystal, and gilded accents.

I like the new Falcon more than that one. I like old Multiforts more than that one. I voted for history.

Someone, maybe me, should do a write up on the Mido Multifort. When it was introduced in 1935 it was perhaps the most revolutionary watch in the world. Not kidding.

The Lorier is one of the best looking watches anywhere. Mido has history but it's the Falcon for me. Yippee-kye-yay, Mr. Falcon

Yes please do! When I was reading up on Mido I was fascinated what a capable watch the first Multifort automatic was for it's time, combining all the characteristics we now take for granted in our everyday watches.
