The Legend Diver mesh bracelet is a scratch magnet

After nearly 3 months, the mesh bracelet for my Longines Legend Diver 42mm finally arrived from the AD. 🥳 I love how it looks, it makes the watch look so dressy.

However the clasp is a big, broad scratch magnet.

In fact just opening/closing the latch scratches the broad, polished surface underneath.

I feel disheartened. 😞 The bracelet is new but it's already roughing itself up. I can't even open the latch without worrying about scratching the polished surface by digging my fingernails under the latch. It discourages me from just being able to put the watch on and wearing it.

Does anyone else own the mesh bracelet? How often do you wear your watch? Is it something you wear daily, or reserve only for dressy scenarios?

Put a strap on it if you don't want to scratch the bracelet anymore. Or just buy a good third-party milanese mesh and keep the OEM part fresh.

I feel your disappointment. Always a bummer when something finally arrives and it doesn’t live up to expectations. There is a lot of polished surfaces on that combo. I can’t see a way around the scratching, unless you put protective tape on the clasp or buy an alternative clasp. I say you just live with it a bit. It is going to scratch and scuff, but those will be your scratches and scuffs. We won’t judge you for it. 😜 Maybe you could just get them polished out from time to time. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I am considering replacing the clasp with a 3rd party one. Hopefully there's a pretty good quality clasp of this size somewhere.

Good luck in your search.
