Spb317 vs. Spb151
Looking to purchase a new Seiko to celebrate a special occasion - I’m torn between the two. Curious to see people’s opinion. Any insight for or against either reference is helpful as I try to make up my mind!

The 317 wears very well, I enjoyed it. Can’t comment on the 151.
I have to go with the Captain Willard(151) because I have it and love it! That is my biased opinion lol. It wears great on the bracelet and NATO’s and rubber straps. For me it’s the perfect blend of a tool watch but also in the right lighting it’s somewhat refined and looks very nice.

I like the more streamlined Seiko cases versus their “fat boy” cases.
Plus the color matched date at 4:30. 👌
SPB 151 wears better than one might think, I have a 6-6.25 in wrist and I like how it wears a lot. A big hook for me was it's historic and film connection.
The 317 is just so damn comfortable and versatile. The bracelet they offer on it is fantastic as well.
