What strap style/color for my Bambino?

I’m looking to get a new strap for my Orient Bambino. But for some reason I can’t figure out, stylistically, what goes with it.

What does WC think? It’s on a dark, shiny alligator from the factory. Do I stick with padded? Stay dark? I have no idea.

I do know that I want to stay on the dressier side.

Dress down with a steel mesh bracelet, dress up with a brown, red, or black leather strap. Buying quick release straps really help in making it a joy to change it up.

Good call…

I put this strap on my Tissot and it would really bring out the blued hands on your Orient. Happy hunting!

Here's mine on a Matte Navy Blue Shark Skin Strap and Ostrich Leg Strap all custom from Leatherbound.ink.

Change it up! White and blue hands would look good with any strap. Love your Bambino.

Enjoy that watch!

I do agree! Another way of seeing it is brown ostrich to dress down and alligator to dress up... In the end that watch is very good with a loooot of straps... Enjoy it!

I paired with a brown wood Maya leather strap found in Etsy Tunsleather from Vietnam.

I like browsing the Bulang & Sons Strap guides for inspiration. Of course, they only show high-luxury watches, but you can find one whose face looks close enough to your watch and see how it looks with a variety of colors and styles.

Alternatively, I also like to play around with the Delugs Strap Finder tool. Same idea, you pick a watch that resembles yours from the list and try a few different styles to see what you like.

Once I find my pick, I don't buy from either of these websites because their products are absurdly overpriced. 15 inch² of Horween leather barely costs $5, labor is probably $10-15 tops. A fairly priced luxury leather strap should cost $50-$60 tops at an honest x2-x3 markup. Double to triple that price for a Delugs strap is luxury markup scam territory, I'm sorry to say.

So far, the best leather straps I have experienced come from Tuns. There are hundreds of styles and leather types to choose from, all from renowned tanneries, and all straps are made to order to your specific dimensions for a perfect fit. Maikes, Bisonstrap, and Hemsut also make decent affordable straps. And for cheap short-length straps (160-180mm), I go with StrapsCo.
