I’ve been contemplating another blue diver for quite awhile and liked the vibes of a Tudor Pelagos Blue 42 but ever since Jody started the Erebus marketing last year I’ve felt his Erebus all blue has had a similar vibe. Now the Erebus reviews are coming in and looks like a good pick. Should I save up for the Tudor or grab the Erebus now? Will the itch be properly scratched?

Why do you want the Tudor? If it's because it's a luxury brand, then no an Erebus won't scratch the itch.
If you just like the style, then yes, the Erebus might scratch the itch.
The itch will only be scratched forever with an established Swiss watch over a You Tube darling. If you can save the funds the Tudor is the only answer.
If you can afford the Tudor I suggest you get it. It has a better design in my opinion.
Tudor was the one I originally liked before the Erebus was a “thing”

I at one time wanted an Omega AT, quite a bit really.
Then CW launched the C63 Sealander, and I found a watch that scratched my Omega AT itch, for several thousand dollars less.
I now happily own a C63, and no longer even look at the AT.

Compared to the Tudor,in terms of build quality, brand history, and after service care, the Erebus isa very small "thing". I'm sure it's a decent watch, but not in the league of Tudor.

Love it, you see my dilemma perfectly 👌

All true points and on the second hand market you can get a reasonable deal on the Tudor. However if the Erebus dies it can be replaced multiple times for the same spend on a Tudor. JOOI my wife agrees with you 🤦🏻♂️
💪💪 My Answer.
The FXD had me interested for over a year. I eventually went to my local AD, ready to buy. The watch felt like everything a tool watch should be. I wanted to buy the watch. But I simply can't get over that abomination of an hour hand. I walked out empty handed.
I do love my Erebus Origin, though. I was wearing it today while getting some landscaping work done.

I was jaded by the snowflake for years too but it is a Tudor trademark and the distinctive design factor has merit. Just don’t get the use of the snowflake on non-divers, eg Chrono it can block the subdials. Good point on using the Erebus whilst landscaping, tool watch 👍
I have the blue origin and love it to bits. One of the pleasures for me is how Jody described the little design decisions over hand and marker lengths etc. I have a Tudor BB Burgundy which I also love but definitely enjoying the honeymoon with the origin with much more value / less expense. The only itch I have is still for a full titanium (including bracelet) watch, but struggle with the lightness so drawn to the Peligos LHD being moderately heavy for a full ti piece.

Thank you for sharing Gareth 👏
I would pick the Erebus. It has a full minute track on the bezel, cleaner dial layout, and doesn't use terrible snowflake hands.
If you want a tool watch, it's the Erebus. If you want a luxury watch, go for Tudor.
