Given the holiday and spooky season, what are some of your watch horror stories? ย I don't really have one myself, but I occasionally have nightmares of eternally trying to wind up a Longines Dolce Vita I used to have.ย

I had two watches randomly break last week while setting them. ย Haha.ย
Iโve spent thousands of dollars buying item after item that tell the time, but not nearly as accurately as my telephone. That scary enough for ya?

This.
Plus somehow I keep repeating the same action (buying a new watch) over and over, while chanting "This will be the one"
I lost two Seiko divers a year apart. ย One I blew out the crystal from helium decompression which of course destroyed the watch, and scared the bejesus out of everyone when it blew out. ย
The other one the strap let go during a dive, and instead of refilling and going down to get it we sent down the electromagnet. ย We got the watch, but the magnet destroyed the dial, hands, and some movement pieces. ย
Both went into the trash. ย All I can say is "Young and dumb."
I bought this watch pre-owned. Described by the seller as "Like new, no scratches and no hairlines"; the pictures in the ad didn't show any either.
Upon receiving it, I noticed hairlines, and a pretty substantial indent in the case.
And when I wear it, I have this voice in the back of my mind, telling me "You're wearing a chinese fake...".
Spooky.
When I was but a wee lad I had this kick ass digital watch with indiglo that I wore 24/7, slept with it, all that. One day on vacation I was riding the tube behind the boat and I wiped out, when I popped up laughing I noticed my precious digital watch with Indiglo was gone.ย
ย
I was sad the rest of the vacation, and probably the rest of the summer tbh.ย
