Watch Design

Some of you may recall Ikepods - or discovered them recently. The original company closed up and was resurrected. The design, however, was done by Marc Newson whose design firm was also responsible for the Apple Watch. Seeing them side by side should make that more apparent.

Ikepods are cool because they follow more industrial/product design rules combined with Newson’s personal design language - which makes them differ substantially from more traditional watch design language. Have you wanted a mechanical Apple Watch that isn’t Mosers Alp Watch? The original Ikepod is indeed the progenitor and they were all made with cosc movements.

I have been trying to hype the brand for years, but does not seem they get much attention due to current ownership and watches. However, the market has seemed to respond well to them. Used to be able to pick up the chrono for about $600 pre-covid. Those days are gone.
