Steel colours (warmth)

I understand that photographs can be manipulated to change the warmth of the picture, but recently I have been finding my stainless steel watches to be too cold and bright (aka white/blueish in tone).

I know there are other steel alloys that look warmer (or at least darker), like the tegemented steel Sinn uses, or 904L. As I understand, titanium is usually of warmer tone as well.

Any one else get bothered by the steel colour? What other steels have you looked into? What does silver look like?

I agree that steel can look a bit too bright or cold at times. Can help to change out to a leather strap at times.

I used to be a Ti hater but it really does present a warmer tone. Looks closer to Rolex Oyster Steel in person.

Oxidization is one of the biggest reasons I'm cautious of adding a bronze/silver watch as well - maybe I'll give bronze a shot if I find one that I like enough.

I love me some rose gold watches too but society aside, my wallet is just saying no 😂. I do think gold plated dress watches can work, as technically it shouldn't get too much wear.

I agree with less than 18k gold being a cool idea, especially from more sporty brands. Not sure how they'd age (vintage 14k watches often look pretty worn) but yeah!

A brown leather strap really does help! I never knew how cold steel watches were until I got my titanium Citizen...

Try warmer lighting.

Try warmer lighting.

Def works, but unfortunately I can't replace every lighting at work... or could I.. 🤔

what about amber tinted sunglasses? Would that work?

Brushed, Bead blasted, Tegimented.

The difference is really striking in person. The Tegimented steel is impervious to scratches but it feels softer and quieter.

I'll be looking out for a pair when my wife isn't looking 😎

Beautiful. Even within stainless steel it seems like certain finishings really highlight how cold the steel can be.

I tried on some everbrilliant steel watches and was pretty wowed by the ‘whiteness’.  It’s used for several Seikos and grand Seikos.  The bright shop lights which likely helped a little

On another note. There is a common fashion tip you should match your leathers...  (watch strap with belt with shoes) and match your metals.... all gold or all silver.

Seeing your beautiful wedding ring is in gold...Match your metals... perhaps it's time to save for a gold watch 😎.

Thankfully we have two-tone watches to dispel that old advice 😎, though admittedly I do try to match them when I can (hence my gold Casio 😅).

Actual rose gold watch.... yes, maybe 10 years or so down the line....
