Rolex Explorer 114270 Series Difference

Calling all Rolex Explorer 114270 experts!

Any recommendation on which series of 114270 to get? are there any substantial differences, or are they just sorted by year of production?

Edit: maybe I wasn't clear enough ๐Ÿ˜‰ I'm looking into a 114270 and there are different series, eg. F-Series and Z-Series. I'm looking for the differences there

I think it depends on how much you value drilled case vs no lug holes as the biggest difference. Iโ€™m pretty sure all the 114270 have solid end links. Somewhere around 2007 they transitioned to engraved rehaut but that would be a non issue for me.

Just get one in 36mm

Adrian Barker did this video 6 years (๐Ÿ˜ณ) ago. It was part of my decision to get the 114270. Technically I believe they are all the same. What I think was added in later years during the production run was the ingraved text on the rehaut of the watch.

Yeah! I remember that one. A classic episode of his.

Personally Iโ€™d want one with a Z or M serial number. You get the engraved rehaut. Thatโ€™s just something I like to look at
