Omega x Swatch Jupiter MoonSwatch review

After a great year of ownership with the Omega x Swatch MoonSwatch, it's honestly high time I go into my comprehensive review of this distinctive timepiece. The watch's case and design undoubtedly serve as instant eye-catchers, arresting attention with their unique aesthetics. Yet, a personal quibble surfaces concerning the choice of BioCeramic material for the case. In my view, a potential game-changer could be the consideration of a beige PVD alternative. Such a shift in materiality might elevate the watch's overall aesthetic appeal, successfully sidestepping any lingering associations with a plastic-like appearance.

To the beating heart of the MoonSwatch, the Swiss-made ETA G10 211 212 quartz movement, its performance stands as a testament to both reliability and impressive accuracy. With a negligible deviation of only +/-1 sec/day, the quartz movement not only meets but surpasses expectations. Granted, the predictability aligns with the inherent nature of quartz movements, yet it undeniably enhances the watch's dependability.

The MoonSwatch's true allure lies in its distinctive charm, and it's hard to overlook the pivotal role played by the association with Omega in enhancing its overall appeal. The watch expertly strikes a harmonious balance, exuding a vibe that is both special and cool, making it an enticing choice for individuals attracted to its unique character. It's worth noting that the influence of Omega remains a significant driving force behind the popularity of the MoonSwatch.

However, as with any timepiece, there's room for improvement. Especialky this one! Lol. The potential exploration of alternative materials, such as beige PVD, could catapult this already alluring watch to new heights. This evolution might effectively shed any lingering plastic-like connotations, offering a fresh perspective to both loyal fans and potential buyers alike.

In summary, the Omega x Swatch MoonSwatch is undeniably a nice watch with a distinct edge. Its allure, coupled with the unmistakable influence of Omega, contributes significantly to its popularity. Nevertheless, the consideration of alternative materials could transform this timepiece from nice to exceptional, further solidifying its status in the world of horology.

I hope you had a great read, have a good day!

  • The strap, it feels amazing!
  • The colours.
  • The fact that it's an omega (branded) watch for just under £300
  • The loud sound of the movement.
  • The BioCeramic case, looks a tiny bit plasticy.
  • The overhyping.

Take that as you will.

Nice watch but its not an Omega as you say in your likes, it's a Swatch with Omega painted on the dial, in my opinion of course, but not being negative about your watch, I like it.

Looks to me like it was written with AI assistance, which is fair if the OPs first or second language isn't English.

The menacing suggestion of an AI considering alternative materials to heighten the watch-wearing experience kind of suggests they’ve considered human flesh and bone, and they’re ok with that…

… and the fact this review considers this as an Omega for under £300 should be an automatic strike. (Edit: Omega-branded now, so it’s all about labels).

I didn’t mean to do it that way, just thought it sounded a bit corny.

I didn’t try it, but hearing from forums and other reviews/YouTube channels - strap is a tragedy and the first thing to consider changing. But idk - never tried myself

·

I have the same and I also like it very much! Just bought a khaki Nato strap! It fits perfectly!

This seems like a very corporate take. Idk if they changed it but bioceramic isn’t just plasticy feeling; it IS plastic and the MoonSwatch had remarkably poor quality. just my 2 cents

·

I was recently gifted the mission to Saturn. It loons incredible but its staying as a display piece coz I'm scared it'll break lol

·

This was the one I wanted. I’ve given up due to the unavailability online.

I did, in fact, buy a Pagani version instead of the MoonSwatch due to the unavailability issue! Being that the PD is a steel case, Seiko movement, and only cost me about a hundred bucks, Swatch screwed themselves out of selling me a Moonwatch.
