First Post Greetings

Hey! I’m a watch nerd from the Philippines, currently working in the UAE. I’ve been binge watching watchcrunch on YT and it brought me here. Currently rocking the Speedy 3861 sapphire sandwich (pls dont hate me). I hope I get to meet as many people who are equally as passionate about this hobby as I am. :)

Since owning a vintage speedy, I can't live without the applied logo!

Because I know a lot of "purist" who prefer the hesalite. I'm not really a fan of vintage, but I love it when something classic gets a modern interpretation. You know what I mean? Those subtle details that make it fresh and modern without really losing its heritage.

On a side note, "can't be trusted" really got me. Thanks for making my day haha

I agree, i love vintage watches and especially vintage speedmasters, but i also enjoy reissues like you said. I think the 3861 was a really cool update, I’m definitely jealous!

I don’t have any vintage watches, but sometimes I try to browse for a cool vintage watch with a case size of 41mm I would like to find one with a really good price but chances seem slim. 🤔

Yeah if youre looking for actual vintage watches you will not me able to find much above 40mm, at least in my experience. The style back then was the smaller case sizes. But good luck on your searching. 👍

Welcome.

I chose the Sapphire Sandwich myself - I don't feel any compelling need for a hesalite crystal, plus the movement is attractive enough that it shouldn't be hidden behind a caseback.

Exactly. I can’t wear smaller sizes it doesn’t suit my wrist 😂

Yes well said. I still look at the case back from time to time. It puts a smile on my face 🤓
