I think people should wear watches they actually like. Not because of hype, resale value, or what other people say. I think an emotional connection and attraction to the timepiece is more meaningful and worth a lot more.

Completely agree. I doubt you’ll find many “hypebeasts” on this platform - so I think you are in good company 👍 In fact, nearly all the folks I’ve interacted with here really just enjoy sharing their love of watches, don’t take themselves too seriously and are pretty open-minded… even if they are completely wrong about date windows being a good thing. 😂

That's good to hear! It should just be chill, and fun. Btw though, what's wrong with date windows? Haha. I mean, some watches look good with them, and some don't. That's just my opinion though 😂

i agree with you. it is how much we appreciate the piece. resale value are for flipper only in my opinion

Reseale value is the most soul-destroyingly, mind-numbingly boring reason to like a watch IMO. We manage finance at work, we manage finance at home, we invest... I'm not interested in that, personally I have hobbies and interests to get away from having to consider money for a few minutes.

There are probably forums like this but for people who are interested in investing, and depreciation, and tax brackets, and crypto, and exchange rates, and franking, and... I'd rather be on a watch forum discussing watches.
