Pick up a 124270 to commemorate a special year.
Long overdue pick up to commemorate the birth year of my baby girl and my 40th birthday. Pick the 36mm Explorer 1 so that my baby girl can wear it when she grows up (If people still wear mechanical watches that time 😂).
Did hesitate about the size on my 6.2inch wrist, but it just looks right after putting it on.

Mine is a used one from a trusted reseller. Tried to wait over a year from ADs but no luck 😕
Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and buy from the grey market, great looking watch definitely will be a piece to hand down to your siblings

Yup, after a year long waiting, well actually I'm not even sure whether the ADs really put me on the list, pull the trigger when bump into a good condition one within warranty. Bite the bullet only for special piece.
Mine is from 2021 Nov date, running +2 sec /day consider it is sill within the spec.

I understand where you coming from.. not sure if the list is even real. All I can say luck plays a part sometimes. My first AD I waited for a whole year, nothing. Next AD I got my Rolex in less then 4 months.

Exactly! My journey was started from 42mm+ watches to 41mm, and then 39mm and now 36mm 😜 I'm kinda glad that I don't have a big wrist in order to enjoy this beauty with just right balance.

Honestly, I'm interested in the same explorer someday and there's no way I'm playing AD wait list games. Totally fine to go grey market in my book. Congrats on the addition! Love watches with stories attached, your daughter is going to love it someday.
