The model Wesley B was almost used exclusively by Hamilton’s Awards Division for corporate awards, usually as a gift to an employee on this 25th year of service. Since this was only awarded for corporate presentations, this makes the watch quite rare as this was never sold publicly in consumer catalogues. This particular watch has an engraved dedication for Alex Hearn for 25 years of service in the Federal Adjustment Bureau awarded to him on May 1, 1955. Other examples of the Wesley B indicate that it was the norm back in the day to gift a gold watch to an employee on his 25th year for loyalty and service to the company.

Good knowledge to share.
Extra thanks for the side profile photo. I assume these had real gold content of some sort. The wrist shot makes the watch look about 50% bigger than I'd expect it to be. Was this large for the period?
