Watch Resurrection Part Deux

Story time… it’s June, 1995 and myself and my lovely bride are about to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. I got her a modest piece of jewelry, and she gave me this beautiful Citizen watch. I remember being floored, as we didn’t have alot back then and the watch was so nice!

Admittedly I gave it a hard life. I wore it every day (I loved it so!). One day, I dropped it and shattered the crystal. Took it to our local jeweler who did a shoddy job of replacing it and not long after the crystal fell out. It made its way into the back of my jewelry box in bag, for probably more than 20 years.

I recently pulled it out and took it to my watchmaker in hopes he could salvage it. I picked it up today and friends, it looks as great today as it did in 1995!

Behold, my first wedding anniversary gift… a much loved, 28 year old Citizen!

Cheers to you and yours

Lovely! Something about the physical watch marking a fleating event in time makes both the event and the watch warm and more meaningful years later. Congratulations on your relationship.

Thanks, friend. The smile on my wife’s face when I got home made it worth it! She told me again the story of how she bought it on layaway at the jeweler in the mall she worked at… beaming as she reminisced 😍

That's a beautiful watch! I would pick that out for myself.

Glad you got it restored back to its former glory!

I love this type of date complication.
