Watch Ressurrection ~ Finale
As many of you might recall, about six months ago I found my Grandfather’s watch head… no strap or bracelet. I gave it a twist and boom, she started running! He died in 1971. This beauty hadn’t run in 52 years.
I took it into my watch maker and had a full restoration done, a crystal, crown, jewel, movement overhaul and period correct bracelet later, this watch has another 52 years of life. Could I have pitched it in the back of the watch box and spent the money on something new? Perhaps. But my friends we can buy things, but we can’t buy memories.
This will be my Christmas gift to my father. I can only hope he enjoys the memories of his dad and loves it as much as I do.
