Which Seiko should I get next?

Hello fellow Watch Crunchers. Hope you had a wonderful weekend.

As you can see, I have one empty slot left for another Seiko ๐Ÿค”.

I have narrowed down my choices to three.

  1. Alpinist GMT

  2. King Seiko

  3. Cheapest GS with spring drive

Leaning towards the Alpinist, I feel it's a potential GADA watch. Dressing up and down. Also, love the looks, the 3 6 9 12 dial and the explorer-ish bezel. But I'm not sure about the 6R54 movement. Don't mine the 3Hz beat rate. Hope they have improved it's stability. My SPB 62mas' movement leaves much to be desired. Appreciate if you could share your experience here on the 6R54. Decent price too.

The King Seiko, ahhh. Well that case finishing.. Cheapest way to get to Zaratsu-polished Seikos I guess without going into the LXs, SLAs, SJEs and GS territories. About getting the SJE version of KS, don't feel it's worth it for the price, getting closer to a GS.

The GS. Wanna experience spring drive myself. And that dial is gorgeous as well as the case finish, nuf said.

If budget is irrelevant I would go with the GS, but with limited resources the Alpinist would be my choice ๐Ÿ‘

I don't really see these being in competition with eachother. Would be a nice 3 watch collection.

Clearly not the same budgets here. If money is unlimited, I would go with the GS obviously. If staying within a reasonable budget, I think the KS is a good middle-ground, although you could get the same looks with a vintage piece for much cheaper, but not with as good of a movement.

The alpinist never appealed to me. The old-school cathedral hands look out of place on a field-style watch and are a deal breaker for me.

Yeah, won't get that smooth sweeping spring drive from other brands.
