Your exercise watch

I am a keen runner and always have my Garmin fenix 7s on my left wirst. I rotate the watches on my right wirst. When I run I also wear a Timex Ironman for back up time and a really clear display for the current time. Tried g-shock but the display was too small (not tried the new screens yet). I also run in all weather, sometimes feels like swimming in Yorkshire, UK.

What does everyone else wear, what works for you. Does anyone use and mechanical watch for exercise or sports?

I was once a fairly serious runner and was always partial to the Timex Ironman. I had several other watches over the years, but the Ironman was the one I kept coming back to. As part of an attempt to get back to running, I got myself a Garmin. I’ve only used it twice so I don’t have much of an opinion other than it’s much better than the one I had like 15 years ago.

I have a serious condition that prevents me from running or jogging.

It’s called ‘dignity’

I wear one of my G-Shocks when exercising. I’m not trying to hit a certain distance or time, so I don’t need to track any metrics. I’m just trying to look good naked.

I will spare everyone my mirror check when I’m just wearing the watch.

Samsung Galaxy watch for swimming (pool), cycling, landscaping and walking my doggo.

Garmin instinct on left as you do and mechanical on right. Looks a bit weird as my wife keeps telling me !

Most of my exercise is hiking so generally the Garmin will be recording the route but showing the map that I need to follow.

However when in public I only wear mechanical and leave Garmin at home.

Have pondered about wearing Garmin on ankle under trousers as I do like the health metrics this watch provides 😂

So you’re Garmin will look like an ankle monitor and you’ve escaped house arrest

Anything works for me.

My idea of exercise is getting up from a chair without using the arm rests.

I do a 40-minute walk most days so I will usually wear a watch with a timing bezel or my giant Seiko SE-SSB089 Chronograph to know when the 40 minutes are up.

Sometimes I will wear a Seiko 5 with a 7s26 on the other arm to keep it wound up, or wear a pair of pants that has the extra pockets above the knee, and put the Seiko 5 in there.

And (rarely) I'll just wear any watch and simply remember what time I started! Or if I have a new watch it will sometimes go on the walk. I'm not getting any younger, but wearing a watch every day on the walk makes me want to do it consistently.

I've used Coros watches for the past 4 years; I originally got the Pace 2 while training for a trail race. It quickly became my most worn watch, until I upgraded to the Pace 3 when it was launched at the end of last year.

The battery life, features, weight, frequent updates, and price are a hard combination to beat for anyone looking for a GPS sports watch.

I enjoy mechanical watches as much as the next person, though I find myself wearing a #coros more than anything else with my lifestyle, interests, and location.
