More like they've been in business for 150 years*... It's my understanding that during the East German days, all of the companies like ALS, GO and others were conglomerated into a single watch manufacturer under the communist government. It wasn't until after 1990 and the fall of the GDR that ALS re-emerged as an independent manufacturer.
