Truly Amazed (SBGN003)

the last few months I’ve gotten stuck in a grand seiko rabbit hole. yesterday I walked into my AD and walked out with what will be my daily grab and go time piece. No amount of pictures or YouTube clips will do it justice. once you see a GS in person, it is simply on another level

Wow. It looks awesome in the picture so I bet it looks next level in the metal. Congratulations on a fine fine watch 🍻

Beautiful!  I’m in same the rabbit hole.

wish there were ADs in my city.  I’m trying to pick and buy one without ever being able to see one in person

Hello, sir.  I would strongly, strongly suggest taking a vacation and going somewhere with an AD to try on the GS watches before buying.  The specs simply do not give you a good idea of how they really wear, and nor do photos actually show you what they look like under different lighting conditions.  For forever,  the SBGA427 and the different seasons GMT watches were at the top of my list.  When I actually went and tried on the different watches, I ended going for the SBGE257 and SBGJ237 instead, and those were never in my consideration set.

Good luck!

Cheers my friend!

I love the idea.  I‘m in virtual love with several (SBGA211, 469, 413, 415, 427.. etc) but of course never seen any of them in person.  As absurd as it sounds, I’ve not seen any GS in person 🤪

Its very interesting to know you changed your mind completely after trying some on.

Vacation for me is always a family deal (think national lampoon) so will require some delicate finesse and bribery to pull off… I’ll start scheming now.

Listen, why not schedule a vacation to Miami?  It's warm and wonderful all throughout the year.  And, I can set you up with the manager of the Miami GS Boutique.  I'm certain that he'd roll out the red carpet for you... champagne... the works.  And, given that it's the company boutique, they will have nearly every single watch you could possibly want to try on and view from any angle, in any lighting condition.

The only watches they might not have available for you to try on would probably be something like the SBGA007 or other highly limited editions like that.  But, otherwise, they got 'em all.

This is one of my favorite Grand Seiko's and it wears well on a variety of different wrist sizes. The 39mm case looks great on my large 19cm (7.5 inch) wrist and the accuracy coming out the 9F quartz movement is amazing.

Hey, offer's open to you too!  But, since you're in Palmdale, you could drive over to the Beverly Hills boutique!

Agree, this could easily be my daily wear. I would also strongly recommend trying before you but, if at all possible. The finishing on GS watches, the different materials (stainless steel, titanium, etc.), and the different dial faces make for very different experiences within this brand. Also, GS watches in general are not thin, so how they feel and look on you wrist really matters.
