Dad handing down a watch to me

My dads health hasn’t been the best, getting older with age. Went for a visit and he gave me this vintage Raymond Weil, a watch he won and wore the 5 years he was working in Saudi. Definitely means a lot to me. We went from not having much to my dad making it in his own and giving me a life I couldn’t be more grateful for. Change the battery and it was still dead so I dropped it of it’s my local guy to see what else can be done. Hopefully it works out.

Good looking watch

Good look with the watch. I also have my dad’s Raymond Weil. It’s not vintage like yours but it means a lot to me. My mum bought it for my dads 60th birthday and gave it to me after he passed away.

Nice, I hope he can get it to work.

If he can't it might be worth researching the movement to see if you can get a replacement, or even something else that would fit. It would be a shame to have it lie in a drawer.

Watches with personal history attached to it are the best

I like it but I'd prefer a better fitting strap. Is it working yet?
