Hi, like to share some first impressions with the maen hudson gmt. I got it day before yesterday. It is the version with the metal bezel.

First look: Very harmonious balanced between dial size, bezel and case though the dial is really small. I like the shiny high polished ring between bezel and rehaut.

The dial is quiet busy with large indices and little negative space. Its a tool watch, so this is ok.

Indices raised a little. I was in doubt, that the indices look cheap because they are not applied. That is not the case. They look great. The raised black borders even reflect some light so they look like applied.

Everything perfectly aligned. The bezel with the rehaut with the indices. The 24 hour hand hits the hour spot on the minute. The Maen M on the crown is straight up whenever screwed down.

Bracelet beautiful and solid. Clasp would be great with toolless adjustment. Bezel very stiff.

Mine is running 7 sec/day fast. Just within the specs. May get better with time.

Great customer response from maen during preorder time.

By and large, I think I got much more then I paid for.

Great compact gmt watch.

Great compact gmt watch.

Thank you for your thoughts! That little ring between the bezel and crystal is a delightful surprise, and does a lot of the lifting necessary to make the watch feel worthy of its price tag. More than that, I'm not yet sure. While waiting through the fulfillment period, I bought an excellent San Martin GMT that comes extremely close in the looks and finishing departments, and maybe beats the Maen in some ways, for about 1/3rd the cost. So yes, so far the Hudson does some things as well or better than some more expensive watches, but there's also this pressure from what's now possible at the lower end of the scale. An interesting question!

Ok, so it’s accidentally just on my watch. It looks better, so MAEN should pay attention to this detail. If it is possible to align they should do it.

Awesome! How’s the bezel action? Lume?

Awesome! How’s the bezel action? Lume?

The bezel works nicely, but unfortunately it's unidirectional. Not the best choice for a GMT, but a lot of companies make it for some reason. I would describe the lume as "average," I guess? If I charge it up at midnight, there's technically still glow about five hours later, but only barely. Definitely a sports watch approach to lume, rather than a dive watch one.
