Life with the Omega Seamaster NTTD edition

After owning and wearing this watch almost every day for almost 6 months now, I thought I could share my experience.

I think the fact that it is my daily choice, already speaks volumes. This is a versatile, everyday piece that suits my style and daily life perfectly. It being titanium is a huge plus for me, as it is light and comfortable. I also don`t feel like I have to baby it or be careful with it. I am congizant of the fact that this is an expensive watch, but still I have worn it for most occasions. Be it moving from one apartment to the other or just going out and about. The bracelet has become my go to, because it is comfortable. The Omega straps are amazing, but there is just something about this bracelet.

It has kept great time, as expected. I don`t have a timegrapher and I haven`t used any other tools to check the exact tolerances. However, I only have set it again every 3 months.

There are some small issues I have with this watch though. The bezel action could be better, there is a tiny tiny bit of backplay and the sound and tactile sensation of turning it isn`t the best. This is something Omega could improve upon in the future, given the price they are asking. Further, the clasp is a bit big. It could look even better with a smaller and more thought out clasp. However, it is not uncomfortable, it doesn`t catch on things or feel off. It is just an aesthetic thing. Other than that, I have nothing more to put my finger on.

I found the right watch for me, a watch I intend to keep and never sell. It was bought new, at retail. I bought it on the bracelet and the AD gave me the OEM strap free of charge. For me, the price was worth it. I know I could have saved money by buying it pre-owned, but having the warranty and peace of mind, knowing it is new.. was worth it.. For me. It puts a smile of my face, every day when I see it.

It wasn`t until recently that I started to even think about wanting another watch.. Befor that I truly considered if I really needed another watch in my collection.. Tthat said.. A Grand Seiko “Shunbun” or a JLC Reverso would be nice.. Maybe an Aqua Terra or a Speedmaster?

Loved this watch from the first time I saw, but is the one watch I really like but would never own, as I don't think I can pull it off, in style maybe but not in size. Congrats! Is a stunning piece!

Don't make my buy it ;-)

From a certain point of view, it's the best SMP out there. It is a bit cheesy (all-in with fake patinated lume and the broad arrow), but also more restrained (dull shine of titanium and that fake patina) and no date.

·

Your experiences with this watch pretty much reflect mine.

·

I’m also saving up for a Sbga413 “shunbun” because I’m lacking something “fine” and “dressy” because my current collection is mostly sporty or vintage

·

That's the perfect nato strap for your watch.

·

Best SMP ever. Also, one of the nicest brown dial watches available. I’m not a fan of the NTTD nato but this looks killer on the brown or green omega nato. The titanium mesh is possibly the most comfortable bracelet I’ve ever worn.

Sweet 6 month recap. I agree with the peace of mind on Omega warranty. I broke 2 springbars on mine and they sent me 6 replacements + a little travel case, no questions asked; my rep was curious as to how I managed the feat but that was after the compensation 😅

Wear her in great health!

(Pic from my no springbar era lol)

Is the lack of AR an issue? I’ve read other reviews mention that it’s hard to see the dial/hans/etc at many angles.

Beautiful watch nevertheless, definitely on my shortlist!

I have wanted this since the moment I saw it… literally the only thing stopping me is that bezel action on a watch this expensive… if I can get over that or find one secondhand I’d wear it with pride

I haven`t had any issues with this at all.. I have to be honest and say that I wasn`t aware of it lacking AR..

I really want one lol 😂
