The CW is a good OP?

Just picked up this Christopher Ward, was out with a friend who has a new OP41 and I have to say…I don’t know if I’d spend the extra $5,000 on the upgrade. The Rolex is a fantastic watch, but this Sealander is much nicer than I expected…heavy, solid, nice finishing…not a bad lower-budget substitute!

What do you CW owners think?

Trust your heart. If you find enjoyment and happiness with the CW and you know that if you get the Rolex you will be worried about a scratch or value retention why bother?. The Rolex is not going away and if the prices skyrocket well there's trillion other brands to try just as good. If you can't sleep and only think about the Rolex and you find yourself online looking at pricing all the time then just buy the Rolex.

CW certainly looks as nice. Also interested in owners views as CW is within budget. 👍

There are definitely OP vibes with the Sealander. I’m quite pleased with mine.

You like it, that’s all that matters. That said, I think CW watches are fantastic!

I do! Objectively though, it’s pretty darn close!

The Sealander was the watch that convinced me it wasn't worth spending money on a watch.

I’d say the Sealander line is designed to be more competitive with the Explorer 1 40mm and Explorer 2 (C63). That being said, CW’s designs tend to omit numerals in favor of the markers, which makes yours OP adjacent.

Personally, I have a C60 Trident Pro 300 that is one of my favorite watches and scratched the itch I had for the Omega SMP 300. The CW is an amazing watch for the money, from a company with great customer service and while it seems silly, I rotate between the steel bracelet and 4 different rubber straps that can be changed in 30 seconds or so. I’d never be able to do that with an Omega (or a Rolex).

I wouldn’t call it a low budget substitute but rather an amazing watch at a fair price. Enjoy it!

The only areas where the CW loses out is marketing and branding/snob appeal. Not worth the extra $5000 if those things don’t matter to you. 😁

I am a big fan of the Light catcher case from Christopher Ward. It fits like a glove on my wrist. It's my favorite case next after the Speedmaster. Christopher Ward also make great quality watches. I think this is a brand that more people will notice in the future.

Had a couple of CW's, great quality for the money & certainly not a budget option but a realistic alternative to many brands.

I have a CW C60 Trident that I bought in 2015 (before CW became the name it is today) and it still gets worn regularly and is still as nice today as it was back then (with the odd battle scar here and there! ☺️)

Have a CW C65 Dune as my field watch. It runs a Sellita SW200 at about +5sec per day, but the 38mm and <12mm case make it a great daily. Bracelet is fantastic too with micro-adjustment. Only criticism is the clasp is a wee-bit too long.

Prices keep creeping up so not as budget friendly as before.

I have a CW and I find it hard to look at other watches in the mid tier/entry luxury position anymore.

I can 100% relate to the solid or almost heaviness, weigh almost as much as my dads 44m watch, looks and feel like it’s gonna last a lifetime
