Yeah, it's a little too big for what it is in my opinion (would work better as a 38mm and thinner) but it's very Grand Seiko-esque! The dial is gorgeous as well as the distortion you get on the crystal.

Man, that hyper aqualand is a funky looking piece. Glad to see the occasional oddball in everyone’s collection. Looking forward to finding a unique piece myself.

I love it! It was part watch, part legit dive computer and designed to be used as one. It came with software (floppy disk) where you could download your dive logs to your "personal computer." 😀

Here is a comment I received from someone about the Hyper Aqualand...

"That citizen Hyper Aqualand is the gem

I remember how it was THE dive watch to have some 25+ years ago amongst scuba divers/sports divers

all my instructors used it and I saw a lot of newly certified advanced/rescue divers wearing it on dive locations all over the world.

It was that, or the JP2000 Aqualand, or the JP1010 new Aqualand (which was the one I got). But the Hyper Aqualand was the king of the hill

That sir, is diving horology history at its best"
