Horological Society of NY - Horology Classes
Has anyone here attended Horology classes by the Horological Society of NY before? They are in Seattle this weekend and I’m excited to attend tomorrow.

Dang, I didn't know they were in town. It's pretty expensive but I'm sure you'll learn and meet some cool people. What watch are you going to wear to class?!

Definitely pricey! On the question of what to wear - that’s been the debate! I think I’ll go with my Tudor BB Ceramic. :)
I've watched the YouTube recordings of some of their lectures and even though they are a wealth of knowledge they are presented by some incredibly boring individuals.
A report back. The class was awesome. If you ever have a chance to attend a Horology 101-103 class, I recommend it. We disassembled and reassembled an ETA movement. Was a lot of fun and learned a lot.
I really wanted to attend this one. Lucky you. My deal was the travel was about a 3 hour drive and the cost for 1/2 day would be over $750 bucks with our broken Canadian dollar.
Just a bit to far and too pricey. Bummer - sounded cool.
Did you break it down 100%? balance spring and all? Afterwards do you feel like stripping down some more movements?
I've toyed with totally deconstructing a 4R35 but can't to go too far before getting intimidated, and building it back together.

Yeah that would have been a long haul from Vancouver. Maybe an event could come to Vancouver some time? I think they hit up Toronto once a year. (As an aside, I used to live in Vancouver)
yup we stripped the movement right down and then built it back up. I definitely want to pick up some other movements now and try. Here’s some photos during the event.
