Watch Case Quality
Probably an unpopular opinion. But why do high end watch brands give such bad quality travel cases. But to be fair, I haven’t had any issues with watch cases from other brands thus far, but this one from AP has really deteriorated and I have almost never used it. And it’s stored in an ideal environment.
Look at the peeling on the case, it makes it completely unusable because just opening it makes so much of it flake off and cause such a mess.
Has anybody else ever faced issues in particular with AP cases?
I don’t even know what to do with this now. Should I just toss it in the bin?

I’m surprised they are using cardboard covered with synthetic leather. It’s a shame, but not surprising….
My perrelet box is the same. I talked to other people and they said particulary older cases used some weird material that just turns to shit after couple years, the problem is for slot of brand from that era

Not sure it is the present situation but when I bought a pair of APs during the early 90s I found out the agents had different grades of presentation boxes as well as leather travel cases, depends on the regard you received from your ad if you bought the watch from an AP ad. I was underwhelmed with the cases that I received and was immediately given better ones.

I don’t think my guy regarded me well since I do own own a yacht or a jet plane, the minimum standard to have voice calls returned. Haha.
