I attended the watch fair in NYC a couple months back and managed to leave there without purchasing a watch. I did spend a significant amount of money on watch-related "stuff". Straps, posters, a case, and a tool (although I haven't found it since I got back home)...but I digress.
I wanted to share my opinion on a much-needed and often hard-to-find watch accessory, the well-priced and perfectly proportioned watch strap!
The brand is PHAIV (pronounced FAVE maybe?), and I stumbled upon them on Amazon. Don't get me wrong, 20mm straps aren't all that hard to locate, even real leather ones are easy enough to come by, what about low cost? Still, not a tall order. But if you want nice feeling leather, with a luxurious taper reminiscent of bygone days...well, normally you'd be about to take a poop in high cotton. But this right here...
I ordered a 20mm tan leather strap. It arrived in no-thrills plastic packaging. The tan was evenly colored and the leather felt substantial but not overly stiff. The contrast stitching is a nice detail and relaxes the look of a leather strap a bit. The strap tapers down to 16mm at the brushed buckle. Yeah, you read that right 16mm! I think there might be a polished chamfered edge too. If so, it's subtle. Quick-release spring bars make swaps a breeze. The PHAIV comes in 5 colors (Tan, Brown, Red, Blue & Green) and 2 sizes (20mm and 22mm).
As of this post most sizes and colors are on sale for $9.99, just Google the name on Amazon. I have no affiliation with this company other than I've bought 4 out of 5 of the colors available.
Buy this strap and thank me later!

Shoot if it’s only $10 I might as well give it a try
