NWA! Raketa Kopernik (Copernicus)Vintage

When I first started getting into watches (very recently), I knew it was important to have a piece that was a true conversation starter. If you are in the watch world or not, this is a definitely a conversation starter.

I saw this really unique design online and then saw you could buy refurbished/franken versions of this watch for a fair price.

When I learned it was an old USSR brand, that now are refurbished in mainly the Ukraine, that peaked my interest further.

Knowing that Ukraine watchmakers are taking their past and turning it into a business, it made me smile 😊.

The design is based on the famous Polish astronomer, Copernicus.

That’s right, a USSR brand, that is connected to Ukraine and Poland? That’s just so cool.

At the 12 and 6, the hands do an eclipse!

This is my first hand wound mechanical…

And I like it!

Everything about this watch is unique to me and the seller on Etsy (yes, Etsy lol) has a lifetime guarantee on the mechanism as well.

The only negative is related to the terrible bracelet.

It looks great but…as you can see from my picture, the top lug connection is…wonky.

The spring bar is actually perfect, it’s the actual bracelet connected to the spring bar.

Oh well, nothing a new strap can’t fix 🤷‍♂️.

Either way, super excited about this addition to the collection!
