Doesn’t have to be expensive to be fun!

I was recently at my mom’s house for a weekend and had the opportunity to go through some of my old belongings that i had forgotten about. It was a treat, old year books, hoodies of teams i hadn’t thought of in a long time, old paraphernalia 👀haha!

Among all of these things was a watch that I purchased when i was 16, this cracking little Parnis. It is in no way little, 46mm!

My love for watches is nothing new, spanning from my early childhood years until now, but for some reason my adoration of IWC big pilot watches was very short lived. The only evidence of that love is survived by this watch.

I dont care for the size now, but the watch looks great.

I think i bought it for $75 originally and it has given me A LOT of joy. I wore it on and off for a few years. Oddly, this has gotten more compliments than any of my “luxury” pieces combined.

To end this ramble, wear what you love!!!!!

Share some of your “low end” watches that garner a lot of joy!

I enjoy painting and modding my watch dials and it brought me joy wearing them as well. Casio and SKMEI for the win!

Well I just ordered two inexpensive Timex watches today and am looking forward to them.

So, I am obviously a big proponent of wear what you want and I can find joy in a $20 Casio or a $50 Timex as well as a high end piece.

Early Alpha GMT. It has a modified 24 hr hand piggy backing with the date. Pain in the ass to set as 4th hand doesn’t “jump” in relation to the local hr hand. But once it’s set you’re good to go. I’ve used this for travel back when I was touring with my band. Keeps good time still.

TRUE THAT! I love my "cheap" watches

I love my cheap Invictas that I can procure for less than $100 US.

They are a whole lot of fun! 😉

My Parnis is not that old! I have had it for a few months, I have other older Parnis of 4-5 years. And my watch is lagging by about 15-20 spd. 😅
