Should I get a metal bracelet for this Seiko King Turtle?

I’ve owned this SRPE05 Grenade for almost a year now and sometimes I tell myself how boring it looks in its OEM rubber strap.

On the other hand, I thought it should remain as such for its adventure, wild & robustness character. After all, it’s meant to be taken for scuba diving and water activities.

Should I spice it up with a metal bracelet, what do you guys think?

Pictures are appreciated.

I think it looks pretty awesome like that, Congratulations! If you want spice though perhaps a tough ballistic grade green or black nato 🌈

If you're okay with the cyclops 🙄, it think it looks great already.

I don’t mind the cyclop. I have another Seiko Turtle SRPE93, that’s without cyclop. 😉

Thanks mate, i will consider a nato strap for a change. Cheers!

Variety is the spice of life! I say add a nice jubilee and a nato strap to the mix 👍🏻

Try a Zulu Strap. If you don't know what a Zulu is here is a sample.

If you’re going to get a bracelet, get one from a third party provider (Uncle Straps, Strapcode, etc.). I own a similar model (SRPA21) and the original Seiko bracelet is my least favorite part. It simulates being an oyster-style bracelet but it’s actually a 1-link bracelet. The links joining the endlink protrude weirdly in my thinner wrist, and look strange. I just wear the watch in a matching NATO 99% of the time.

Nice my friend 👌 I personally like the rubber straps they do that match the dial.

I prefer my turtle with the original rubber strap, though sometimes wear it with a nato. I have other watches I wear if I want a metal bracelet. Personal choice

·

No, don't do it. They wear horrible on a bracelet. The rubber strap helps keep the heavy watch head in place. Add the weight of a bracelet and the lack of friction then you either have to wear it uncomfortably tight or enjoy wearing a watch like a loose bracelet.

Valid point. I have other watches to turn to with metal bracelets. Nato strap is the way forward, plus the economics of getting one.

Good thoughts. Should get a jubilee bracelet from Uncle Strap, and I can alternate between my three Turtles. All three in OEM silicone straps now. This is the way forward, thanks mate!

Will consider this as I have three Turtles now, all in their OEM silicone strap. I should spice them up with a jubilee bracelet and a nato, and interchange between them. Thanks buddy!

Looks like it belongs on rubber for me.

I think I liked mine on the nato and rubber strap over a bracelet. Then again I tried it on a mesh bracelet. Wasn’t a fan of that one

My thoughts are it belongs on a strap and nowhere near a bracelet - personal thing though!
