A while back I decided to 'up my watch game' as they say, and move away from pedestrian brands like Omega, Hamilton etc, and over to something more unique, prestigious and well-respected - the esteemed Daniel Wellington, or ᗡW for those in the know.

As you can see by the pic, I've been collecting for some time now, and feel that, although the ᗡW dials may adhere to a time-tested specific theme, the myriad of strap options more than makes up for that.

Unlike most Swiss manufacturers, ᗡW has the had the class to do away with vulgar and demeaning 'waitlists', ensuring the supply always meets the demand - how the buying experience should be. Rolex could learn a thing or two.

The movements are highly accurate, indicating a very high standard of design and manufacture, and although I haven't had the gold plating micron-tested, it feels like luxury should feel. Perhaps they're solid gold? I'll look into it.

The ᗡW wears incredibly thin, far thinner that a Patek, or Rolex - obviously a testament to ᗡW's superior engineering.

The dials are the very epitome of 'less is more' - a refreshing departure from the garish, attention seeking features or clutter of a GS or PP. The ᗡW exudes confidence in it's simplicity.

The straps are of the highest caliber materials, and the attention to detail is unsurpassed. For example, on more than one ᗡW acquisition, I was selected to receive a limited, artesian-frayed strap. I believe it's ᗡW's 'distressed look' line of straps, in the same theme as distressed denim. I really don't know of many other manufacturers that offer this level of choice.

So far I have been lucky enough to acquire 18 of these exquisite grail watches (as they're an investment as much as they are a time piece), each unique in their own way, and recently had them professionally photographed, as seen in the pic above, mainly for insurance purposes. I hear watch theft is on the rise.

While on the subject of security; if anyone knows a faithful ᗡW homage brand pls let me know, as one doesn't always feels safe around some urban areas wearing the real deal.
