Yema Wristmaster or Lorier Astra?

Hi guys and gals,

Simple question, well maybe not so simple, as I’m having a hard time deciding…both 36mm, blue dial, classy yet sporty. Can get a decent deal on the Yema, about $450. Obviously the Astra isn’t out yet, so would have to wait a few weeks. Thoughts??

I have not. I tried to buy the Lorier Astra but it sold out in less than 1 minute, literally. The Yema is still in my maybe list, but the seller didn’t want to lower the price any, and I didn’t want it bad enough to spend $450, so…

Are you looking at buying one of them?

I do like the Lorier Astra, and I believe it's available for pre-order at the moment. But I hesitate pulling the trigger on it because the price is... well, crazy. I'm a EU customer so additionally to the 500 bucks for the watch I will have to pay shipping (which sadly is not for free from Lorier) and 19% VAT plus import fee to the carrier. That brings it close to 600 Euros, which is kind of high for that watch.

So will probably not order one anyway but keep looking on the used market instead.

Gotcha! I’m sure a used one will pop up after some time. The initial release seemed to be about 5 watches, so I haven’t seen a lot pop up. Where do you shop for used watches?

I would usually shop for them on Ebay and Chrono24. But there are very few Lorier's out there.

Got it! If you ever use Reddit, there’s a subreddit called /watchexchange where people buy and sell watches. Sounds a little sketchy, but I’ve bought and sold a few in there! And usually some Loriers

Thanks for the recommendations! I have seen these posts on Reddit before, but didn't think there would be actually more choice than on Ebay or Chrono24. So that's interesting to know.

Yeah, I saw an Astra in there a month back or so. One one I’ve ever seen for sale second hand, but I don’t sue eBay or Chrono24 so there could’ve been on on there too.
