Spinnaker Piccard

Just sharing my other Spinnaker in the collection. The Piccard is inspired by Jacques Piccard who reached the deepest point on earth in the Mariana Trench.

This is a big and bulbous one - 45mm case, 52mm lug to lug and 21mm thick because of the ultra domed sapphire crystal. Also has a HEV for that 550m water resistance and ¼ kilo for a bit of wrist weight training.

Actually, I wanted the original version which had a 47mm case, 25mm thickness, 1000m WR and was lighter because of its titanium case material. But because I wear all my watches, I thought the 2nd version was slightly more wearable on my boney 6.75in wrist.

I am very happy with it and I do get lots of glances but no one has said anything to me. Maybe they are thinking it just looks ridiculous. Do you think so too?

Love Spinnaker! Love the Picard. Most people are clueless about watches.

Enjoy that watch!

Cheers!

Are they selling these at cost? The sheer amount of material used is mind boggling! That sapphire if cracked will cost a fortune to replace.
