The pain of regret: Sinn 556 A

Four years ago I ran out of money and had to sell part of my collection. The 556 fell victim to my hardship. Not one day goes by without missing it dearly.

Hallo

Oh ja, ich kann dich sehr gut verstehen! Ich habe auch schon verkauft und bereut!

Aber meine noch relativ neue 556A RS muss leider wegen einer BB54 gehen.

Am Preis kann man noch schrauben!

Viele Grüße

In 2019, I signed a five figure contract and I wanted to ensure I had the funds available when the payment was due. I sold my no-date Sub because it was in the best condition and most saleable. The other reason was that the no-date was easiest to replace once I was free of that obligation.

Well, we all know what happened to Rolex availability since 2019. I haven’t been able to replace it and my income hasn’t really bounced back to pre-Covid levels anyway.

Do I miss that perfect, beautiful, shiny no-date Sub. You betcha. Can I replace it? It’s a race between getting a Sub and retirement. Once I retire, it’s not going to happen.

Watches are like roses, nice but not essential!

No worries dude! You’ll get it back again and this time when you get it, it’s going to be more awesome!!

You’ll get another one!

I owned a op39 in the rhodium dial. Had a really bad stretch financially and had to sell it. 4 months later it was discontinued 🤦‍♂️. Prices went through the roof and I know I’ll never, even if I had the means, pay that much to get it back. I really loved it too.
