Ok ... I got either the first or second gen (silver hands) and there were a few things.

The watch itself is really nice (for what you pay). The movement that it uses is incredibly accurate (for what you pay) and the chronograph is nice feeling when you engage it.

The case is well made , Light( good if you like light or bad if you like heavier watches). The case back is engraved and its actually nice too.

The bracelet. ..... Is just bad .... its what makes the watch feel super cheap .... its paper light, loose sounding, my pins were hard to get out and it cause me to get a few scratches and I have more than a few pin removal tools.

I had it for a bit on a different band that worked for a while but mostly my issue is that it was more of a copy than a homage and when I looked at it I was always hoping to see the Ω when I looked at it and feeling like I was cheating on myself when it wasn't there.

BUT, thats me and if the logo and 1 for 1 copy didn't bother me , it would be a great beater watch.

I also got Bulova lunar pilot and that watch is amazing all around and It ticks all the boxes for me. You have the amazing movement, the beautiful face, and great history behind it. That watch helped scratch the moon watch itch.

Happy hunting

Ok that makes sense. I didnt honestly know about the Bulova. For approx £600 sterling that means saving! That’s ok.

Thanks for the detailed response😁

I purchased a PD1701 v3 back in February and wrote a "mini Review" comparing it to my other "Speedmaster-ish" watch, Seiko's SSB031. Link here: https://www.watchcrunch.com/Savage61/posts/speedmaster-esque-vs-speedmaster-ish-28919

I love my Pagani Speedy! Great watch for the price! 👍 😎

There are a lot of discount Pagani chronos on Ali at the moment for good prices. Well under their usual prices from the secondary sellers there.

I agree with @Jason2032 except on the bracelet, which I think is pretty good actually. And I’ve not had any issues with removing/replacing the pins. I have the v3 with white hands (apparently a gripe with previous versions) and like it quite a bit. It’s only made the Speedy itch worse. Particularly because, like Jason mentioned, it’s not as good an homage as other Paganis. There’s just something “off” about the dial that I can’t quite put my finger on. But it’s good enough to look like a Speedy at normal distances. So I’m happy.

My only gripe is the bracelet endlink on one side is drilled slightly wrong, so getting the bracelet back on is a royal pain. You pretty much have to bend the spring bar tip to make it work. I should have exchanged it but was too excited to wear it.

Got a brown racing strap coming later this week.

Please post pics of your PD1701 on the brown Rally strap! Mine came on a black "sailcloth-looking" strap with white contrasting stitching. It looks OK, but is still kinda stiff and slightly irritable on the wrist. I've been thinking about switching it out and am anxious to see what it looks like on a Rally strap 😀

I will when it arrives! If you don’t mind my two cents, I’d exchange the sailcloth version for the bracelet if you can. The bracelet isn’t amazing but it’s better than those straps! Plus it completes the Speedy look.
