Next watch

So last poll was a success but wife said it was too over priced. So now looking to get a watch between $1,000 - $2,000.

I am open to other options, please list them in the comments below!

Also what are your thoughts on the grey market, like jomashop???

You can find Oris for less and in various colours if you hunt about online. But I guess you know that!

Best of luck.

Yea, I’ve seen a variety of them online but is it worth it to get them cheaper in the grey market rather than an authorized dealer.

I’ve used Jomashop and was very happy with it, but I’ve only bought cheaper watches through it, not sure what the rules are with things like guaranties when buying from the grey market.

I have used jomashop. They are a legit company. Just know that you won't get manufacture's warranty like you will from am AD, so it's better for inexpensive watches with common off the shelf movements.

What are you looking for? For $1-2k you have a huge range of options, particularly if you’re open to independent brands.

Looking into either Japanese or Swiss watches. Particularly automatic. Also within 38-40 mm.

I love the big name brands (as listed in the poll) but I’m open to other brands. Something I can wear casually in the office and home.

You’ve got solid choices in your poll. My wife has an Oris BCPD and it’s lovely. That Pioneer is also a looker. Nomos is German, but makes some great pieces. If you especially like that Pioneer style, Stowa and Laco (also Germans) have nice offerings. Among independents, perhaps see if Formex or Monta do anything for you. Plenty of choices. Good luck finding something you really like!

The Tudor is a nice watch, almost bought one recently myself until something else came up. IMO though the best looking version has the gold hands/numerals and the brown leather strap, just looks a little more understated than the metal bracelet. No fancy in-house movements there so can be serviced/repaired by your local watch expert.

I’m a sucker for the BCPD, but ther Hamilton looks great
