Is there any easy way to set the date on Vostok Amphibia other than turning the hands all the way around the dial?
Thanks in advance ๐

If you try the forward to 12 o'clock, then backwards to 8 o'clock method that is a quicker way.
Good luck.
And if you could let me know what you think of the watch please ๐
As I'm undecided whether to take the plunge and add to my collection.

Just a beautiful watch. Highly recommend at the price point.
You turn your hands around until the date changes at 12 then stop. Then turn the hands counter clockwise until around 9 o'clock. Sometimes it may be 8. You may hear a click or see the date move a little bit. Then turn the hands clockwise to the 12 position again. The date should change. Keep repeating until you get the desired date. It's the same way to do vintage watches too.
Hehe. Vostok Amphibias; the John Deere tractors of the watch world. And like tractors, if you look after them they'll probably still be working in fifty years time.
The obviously repeat over again.

True dat! Both of my Vostoks are 30 yrs old and still work ๐
The instructions with my Komandirskie say to go back to the 10 oโclock position then advance to 12 (I can read Russian ๐) works exactly as the instructions say
I hear that if it lasts for a year it will last forever. Mine didn't last a year and I had to replace the movement. Which also didn't last a year. Waiting for the current unpleasantness to end before I try and find a 24-hr movement to try again.
I also replaced the dial with one without a date window. Slow-set date solved.

Mine lasted about 2 years before it died. But I just moved on at that point.

Hey only clockwise then counter to set time the fastest. That's it in a nutshell. It's not that bad but definitely weird.
Buy one without the date then it's easy
The instructions that came with mine said what many people on here already have said. Turn it to 12 oclock then back to 8pm.
Mine is bullet proof, a little polywatch every now an d then is all it ever needs!

Or just ignore the date altogether ... couldn't be bothered setting it on my old Komaderskie, so it's rarely on the correct date! LOL!!
