This is my first vintage watch purchase. I was listed as being in mint condition and sure looks that way. Either someone kept this in a drawer for 70 years or its a great repro. Either way, I really like it. Next up when I have the money is an Omega Constellation with the "pie pan" dial.

That is great looking. It has either been in a very safe place or has been restored very well. If you don't know what model it is head on over to mybulova.com . That is the starting spot for vintage Bulova. (I think that it is a 1951 Academy Award.) It really has classic styling.

Thank you for the tip. It does appear to be that model. It was listed as a 1950 watch, but I was willing to take that with a grain of salt. I should try and see if I can find a Spiedel band like the one in the add to fit the watch!
I had no idea they did this ribbed texture with matching bracelet on another watch. Pardon while I pull up a file photo, as my similar era Bulova Baxter is away getting a new crystal.
So similar, so different. I hope we both manage to stumble upon original bracelets.
Wow! That is a beautiful watch. My model is called an Academy Award. The model number was P I believe.
I love the design of these Bulova tanks
I've been hunting but there are so many choices of Bulova tank style watch
This is all very incidental but I finally found an actual photograph of the original Bulova Baxter bracelet, which is not something that was findable before.
And since I want someone deserving to get it, I'll tag @Whitesalmon with the eBay listing at https://www.ebay.com/itm/126329391830 .
Sure enough, it is an expansion bracelet.
Seller couldn't make the maker's mark clear, so I might have to take the advice of @Aurelian and sign up over at mybulova.com. I should really start a separate thread on whether expansion bands provided on new watches were ever really proprietary or if they were just a pre-existing component chosen from a vendor by the watch manufacturer. But I'm not doing that today.
To avoid confusion, I am not buying or selling.
Aha, both the Academy Award and the lesser Baxter seem to use the Kreisler Bamboo bracelet.
