Since starting my side hobby of making homage watch faces for Fitbit and Android watches, I started to become more and more interested in the actual devices I was homaging. I told myself (and my wife, and my fellow watch enthusiasts in the office, and my family, and my friends) that I wouldn't ever buy a real watch because it would take me down a rabbit hole I wouldn't be able to come back from.
Then last fall, I decided I needed a dress watch to wear with my tuxedo for some upcoming weddings. It was just going to be the one dress watch, and I would still stick with just the trusty Fitbit for daily wear. I researched and scoured the internet and all the forums and found the Bambino. But I also found the thrill of the hunt!
Of course with most things in my life, the Bambino gen2 v2 wasn't quite exactly what I wanted. I needed a rose gold case for it to be perfect and to match with the rest of my black tie hardware. And then I discovered a new level to my enthusiasm in modding. After a lot of back and forth with Orient support and more research, I was ready to take on the task.
During this project, I noticed a lack of clear information about working with the Bambino (specifically what hole to press to remove the stem), and so I joined WUS to write a post about my adventure. Within the day, I had 70 views and a couple of comments, and then was hit with the ban hammer! I wanted to remain slightly anonymous, but WUS doesn't allow for users to register under a business without paying for a commercial account.
Then I found you gloriously crunchy bastards! And the addiction has fully set in. It was just going to be one watch. And just over 100 days later it became 2.

You have successfully… fallen down the rabbit hole 😂😂😂😂
Took a look at your WearOS dials, nice!
And about the rabbit hole...
Haven't found the bottom yet.

Thanks! And if this is a bottomless pit, I'm glad I'm not falling alone!
