Glad people could steer you away from Omega while trying to actually recommend it 😅

(just trying to compliment with a joke - love your watch!!)

Have you thought about vintage? There are many great timepieces from GUB Glashütte and Junghans circa 1950s - 1970s ; if you don’t mind the niggles that come with vintage that is. Some popular ones are with manual calibres 69.1 and 70.1, automatic spezimatics and spezichrons, Trilastic and chronometer movements from Junghans - you can find multiple case and dial variations; with or without numerals, with or without date; case sizes from 33 to 37mm - it’s a huge collection in its own right. And for your budget you can find near mint pieces too! Buy only from a seller you can trust of course.

I am myself looking to add a German watch, had asked about it here on WatchCrunch few months ago but haven’t been able to make a decision yet. In newer models, I like the look of 40mm Tutima Seven Seas S with steel bezels - under 12mm thick and with 500m WR! But they’re divers so no go for me too. Nomos designs don’t float my boat, and modern Junghans Max Bills and Meisters look like fashion watches to my eyes.

See if you can find the SBGN013. It’s a dressier version of the 003, in that the bezel is clean and thinner, while the 24 hours markings are on the outer track of the dial.

Been thinking of a GMT watch for myself lately, and this one really catches my eye.

Haha true that! After all, my watch obsession is my own. Her obsessions lie else where.

On her part, she tries very hard to make me like her favourite bands, which I get bored pretty quickly with. I guess we both want to involve each other in our personal happinesses.

Maybe one day she will pick up the Longines and actually like it, and maybe I will learn to enjoy the beats of Cowboys from Hell. Until then, I know we will keep trying to recruit each other into our hobbies!

Hey, do you wear your husband’s watch often? Coz I keep trying to make my wife wear my watches, and she won’t bother even with the smallest one (a 35mm longines heritage conquest). Any tips for me?
