Exploring the Importance of the Watch Strap

Since joining WC in May I have not only seen some gorgeous and unique straps I have also become a convert of nato straps, my go-to was always steel. I had a natural aversion to nato and or leather straps but have quickly evolved.

Natos are great in the sense of reducing the weight of the watch, creating great balance and the color-ways are endless. Not to mention comfortability.

Show your favorite or most unique watch stap(s).

Yes swapping straps on watches changes the watch wearing experience! Helps me save some money buying another watch😅

·

Those are some great looking natos!

Indeed...I had to learn this lesson the hard way😂

I've become more and more fond on NATO as well for daily use, but that leather strap by REM straps is something else 🤗

I'm digging the multi-colored ones! Beautiful.

Love a NATO (tho must have a sewn in buckle for me), especially CWC mil-spec elastic NATO's, & I've very recently got into "hook and loop" velcro straps. Both very comfortable!!

I love my blue straps…

This might be an unpopular opinion but, to me, straps are almost as important as the watches themselves. Sometimes I see collections made up entirely of watches on bracelets and in the end they all look almost the same to me...

NATOs are usually my favorites, as they're affordable, comfortable and I think they look great most of the time! I almost never leave the watches on the straps or bracelets they came with. I think the only exception in my case is the Sinn 556i RS and the GS SBGX261 - both live on their bracelets more often than not.

Here are some of the combinations I like the most:

You are spot on. They can give a watch a different look and vibe (as you have shown with your straps). Most of my watches are on steel bracelets. I lean more towards sport/divers and yes, they do favor each other.

Thanks for sharing.

That spitfire looks hot paired with that leather strap!

I’m not as into bracelets but do love me some sailcloth, nato, and leather, and the common theme is that basically everything but the natos have some sort of deployant. I have a couple of rubber IWC straps on order and am looking forward to giving those a go. Unfortunately it’s looking like they’ll be coming in well after summer 🥲

The leather straps look very rich in color. Love deployant clasps.

NATO's!

As soon as the weather gets warmer and the snow disappear I open the drawer and put them on!

I love that they are so easy to swap and give a totally new vibe to your watch.

From more classic rugged looks to lighter summer ways they put alot of character to any watches.

Versatile, light and mostly very affordable and accessible to all.

In winter and fall I prefer metal and leather but when summer comes its NATO's time!

And it's so fun to match them with the clothes you wear!
